Behrend Memorial Travel Scholarships
University of Melbourne
Travel scholarship for Master of Science Mathematics and Statistics students undertaking research-related travel.
Travel grants are the most winnable category on this site: they are smaller, less competitive and often decided in weeks rather than months. They are also the most commonly overlooked, because applicants search for scholarships rather than for the specific cost they need covered.

No upcoming cycle has been confirmed yet. Records move here as soon as a provider announces the next round.
Most travel funding is reimbursed against receipts after the event rather than paid in advance, which means you need to be able to pay upfront. Eligible costs are usually limited to transport, accommodation and registration, with per-day caps and a requirement to use economy fares.
Travel grants have short lead times, often closing four to twelve weeks before the event, and many run several rounds a year. Retrospective applications are almost never accepted.
Apply as soon as your abstract is accepted rather than waiting for final travel plans.
Keep every receipt and boarding pass, since reimbursement usually requires original evidence.
Check the fare class and accommodation caps before booking.
Look for society and departmental funds as well as central university schemes.
Almost never. Most schemes require an application before travel and treat retrospective claims as ineligible regardless of merit. A small number of hardship funds are exceptions.
Sometimes, but it is not standard. Where visa fees are eligible it is stated in the eligible-cost list; where the list mentions only transport, accommodation and registration, assume they are not.
