Who can apply

  • Academic teaching or research employment is generally not treated as relevant work experience except in exceptional cases.
  • MEG and EPOS applications are linked and submitted as one package.
  • Applicants from DAAD-eligible developing/DAC countries
  • At least two years of relevant post-Bachelor professional experience. Internships and voluntary work are not accepted.
  • Two recommendation letters, one employer and one academic, must be sent directly by referees.
  • MEG admission criteria must also be satisfied.
  • No more than 15 months residence in Germany before applying under the published rule.
  • Academic degree not older than six years at the October 2026 application point.
  • Academic result above average, described as upper third.
  • TOEFL iBT 95 under the pre-2026 scale or the programme's stated equivalent on the 2026 scale, IELTS 7, Cambridge C1, or PTE Academic 76, subject to stated exemptions.
