Responsibilities
- Develop computational and mathematical models to quantify and predict infectious disease risk.
- Integrate high-resolution socio-ecological, environmental, and health data.
- Develop spatial data-driven methods for public health surveillance and pandemic preparedness.
- Support development of a real-time spatial AI system for early detection and risk prediction.
- Collaborate with UK and international public health and university partners.
Qualifications and requirements
Qualifications
- PhD in applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, computational biology, or a related discipline.
- Specialisation relevant to infectious disease modelling, environmental health, public health, or global health.
- Experience developing complex models with real-world data.
- Strong R or Python programming skills and experience with version control such as Git.
- Familiarity with spatial or statistical libraries such as INLA, PyMC, scikit-learn, or GeoPandas.
- Peer-reviewed publication record and strong communication skills.
